Her story

My name is Beth Wolfe and I am a Vale transplant. I moved to Vale in 1983 when I married Solon Wolfe and we blended our two families. I spent my earliest years in Roy, Utah moving to Nyssa with my family just before my nineth birthday. I graduated from Nyssa High School, Treasure Valley Community College and Utah State University with a degree in teaching. I taught school in Murray, Utah; Renton, Washington; and Nyssa. Although I was not raised in Vale, my husband’s family has lived in Vale for many years, and I am now a true Viking!

As a child I was always drawing (especially horses) and when I was a junior in high school my sister and her husband gave me an oil painting set for Christmas and that began a lifelong love for painting. I am mostly self-taught (I took one class in college) and have learned by trial and error. I would say that my style is realistic with emphasis on detail. I enjoy the outdoors and love painting God’s creations which gives me a greater love for Him and our beautiful earth. I paint a variety of subjects from landscapes to animals to florals and learn something new with each piece. Painting fills my soul.

Depicted in the letter “L” are plants and animals seen in the Vale area. The high desert holds many beautiful and amazing forms of life which brings a feeling of gratitude and appreciation for those who take the time to see it.

I feel honored to be a part of this mural! This is another opportunity to give back to the community that has been so good to our family. Vale truly is the best place to raise a family. The perfect place to teach them strong moral values and how to be good citizens. Eight of our nine children (plus grandchildren) have graduated from Vale High School and enjoyed participating in school activities including clubs, sports, cheerleading, leadership development, band, musicals, and student government, There are not words to express how much I love Vale and the people that live here!
