About Us
Dream Big Fund
Inspired by Bella Sims and the Vale community
Every child deserves the chance to learn, swim, and dream big.
Arabella (Bella) Sims began her swimming career with the Sandpipers of Nevada before competing collegiately at the University of Florida and later the University of Michigan. At just 16 years old, she competed in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and earned a silver medal in the 4x200m relay.
Following the Olympics, Bella visited her grandparents in Ontario, Oregon, where the Vale City Pool provided her with private training time. In return, Bella participated in a Meet an Olympian event and helped raise funds for swimming lessons for families needing financial assistance. Inspired by her belief that all kids should have the same opportunities to learn to swim, the first Dream Big Day at the Pool became a huge success, inspiring hundreds of children. A second successful event followed in 2022, leading to the creation of the Dream Big Fund.
In 2023, organizers partnered with the Vale Community Coalition to expand fundraising efforts and support two primary goals: providing financial aid for swimming lessons at the Vale City Pool and encouraging children to dream big. Through yard sales, raffles, tournaments, donations, and other community events, the organization continues to grow through the generosity of donors and the dedication of unpaid volunteers.
Goal One
Fund swim lessons
Help families access lessons at the Vale City Pool so more children can learn water safety.
Goal Two
Encourage big dreams
